about the author

David Berry is a retired teacher who now spends his time with his wife, Janet, and their dog, Maia, at their home in South Yorkshire. Whilst he has written many online learning units over many years, this is his first book. Walking the dog in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside and at Bridlington sea front is when he finds his moments of creative inspiration. His grandchildren keep him young.

about the book

The last year has been a real challenge for many grandparents longing to be able to visit their grandchildren face-to-face. Even more so when the distance was quite great and at least one of those grandparents faced additional challenges of mobility, health or both. This short heart-warming story is about a grandma who overcomes her accessibility and health challenges so she can travel to meet her grandchildren once again.  My Grandma Has a Magic Car is a grandchild’s view of the magic that makes this journey happen. It is a tale of magic and feelings. It is about a child’s love for their grandma.
